What To Expect At Your Microneedling Appointment
At Soul Aesthetics, we strive to make our microneedling appointments as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Before your treatment, you will undergo a thorough consultation with one of our providers, who will discuss any questions or concerns that you may have and explain what the procedure entails. During your microneedling appointment, your aesthetician will provide a detailed explanation of the procedure and answer any questions you may have. Next, your provider will cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream.
When it’s time for your procedure, your aesthetician will use a microneedling device called a SkinPen to create tiny punctures in the upper layers of your skin. This process helps stimulate collagen production, resulting in firmer and smoother skin. During the treatment, you may feel a slight vibrating sensation, but most patients report this procedure to be comfortable. The entire process usually takes about 30 – 45 minutes. After the procedure, you can return to most of your normal activities. It is advised that you don’t wear makeup for 24-48 hours following your treatment. It is also advised to avoid exercise or strenuous activities for 48 hours.
It’s important to take special care of your skin for a few days following treatment. Post-procedure instructions such as avoiding sun exposure, and avoiding excessive sweating will be provided after your treatment for optimal results. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and hot showers, and wear sunscreen whenever you go outside. You should also avoid vigorously rubbing or scratching the treated area.
