THREADS

THREADS IN TULSA, OK
Threads are absorbable medical sutures that are injected under the skin to lift the tissue and improve sagging skin. At Soul Aesthetics, we use threads from two different manufacturers, Mint PDO Threads and Silhouette Instant Lift.
PDO Threads
PDO threads are absorbable sutures that are made from a complex sugar polydioxanone. When injected into the skin, they can lift the tissues to improve sagging of the face. They help promote the stimulation of collagen which increases elasticity, improves skin texture, and diminishes fine lines. Not every patient is a candidate for PDO Threads, and typically dermal filler is needed to correct volume loss prior to PDO Thread treatment. This is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require general anesthesia nor big incisions. The body absorbs PDO threads in 6-8 months after insertion, but results can last for up to one year.
Types of PDO Threads
Barbed Threads
These threads have tiny barbs strategically placed and molded all around the thread. Once the threads are placed into the skin, the barbs anchor onto sagging skin, and the thread can be maneuvered to achieve a naturally lifted and defined look. The MINT™ PDO Thread is manufactured through an innovative patented technology where the barbs are press-molded on the surface of the thread to maintain its structural integrity, making it effective for powerful lifting. These threads are usually placed in the face and neck to correct sagging skin, smile lines, and jowls. They can also lift the eyebrows and tip of the nose.
Smooth And Twist Threads
These threads are small and smooth. These can be inserted anywhere on the body where collagen stimulation and skin tightening is needed. The most common areas are under the chin, smile lines, lip lines, neck lines, chest, knees, arms, and legs. Multiple treatments, spaced three months apart are required for best results.
Silhouette Instalift
Silhouette InstaLift represents a range of lifting threads that employs cutting-edge Micro-Suspension Technology™ for immediate, authentic, and enduring outcomes. This innovative technology involves the utilization of tiny cones inserted into the deepest stratum of the mid-facial skin. It not only provides an instantaneous lift but also gradually reestablishes the diminished volume in the mid-face region by stimulating the natural production of collagen within the patient’s body. This yields a rejuvenated, youthful look that progressively enhances over time. The materials used in the construction of the sutures and cones are composed of poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA).
Downtime and Results
The most common side effects are soreness, swelling, and bruising. There may be some pain at the insertion site for up to two weeks. You will need to avoid exaggerated facial movements for a few weeks. Detailed post treatment instructions will be provided at your appointment and a follow up appointment will be scheduled to assess results.
Immediate results are seen after the procedure. The body absorbs the PDO threads in 6-8 months after insertion, but results can last up to one year. Barbed threads can be repeated as soon as 6 months post-treatment to one year. Smooth threads can be repeated every 3 months.
